Heresy lures and stumbles believers and leads them to commit spiritual fornication and to eat things sacrificed to idols. (vv14, 20) The church in Pergamos \u201cholds the teaching\u201d (v14), the church in Thyatira \u201ctolerates\u201d many of these heresies, so the Lord said He will \u201cmake war with them with the sword of My mouth\u201d(v16), \u201cI am He who searches the inward parts and the hearts\u201d (v23).\r\nMeditate\uff1a<\/strong>Our Lord has \u201cthe two-edged sword\u201d(v12), He also \u201chas eyes like a flame of fire, and [His] feet are like shining bronze\u201d(v18). Eyes indicate that Lord is the one who searches the inward parts and the hearts, and shining bronze indicates judgment. Think about the three aspects of the Lord Jesus\u2019s judgment. \r\nPrayer\uff1a<\/strong>Lord, give me the heart that fears you, to know that you are coming to judge.
