  1. Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the sojourners of the dispersion of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,<\/li>\n
  2. Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in the sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.<\/li>\n<\/ol>II. The Full Salvation of the Triune God \nand Its Issues \nA. The Father’s Regeneration \nUnto a Living Hope, \nan Inheritance Kept in the Heavens \nand Ready to Be Revealed \nat the Last Time \n<\/b>\n

    1. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,<\/li>\n
    2. Unto an inheritance, incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, kept in the heavens for you,<\/li>\n
    3. Who are being guarded by the power of God through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed at the last time;<\/li>\n
    4. In which time you exult, though for a little while at present, if it must be, you have been made sorrowful by various trials,<\/li>\n
    5. So that the proving of your faith, much more precious than of gold which perishes though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;<\/li>\n
    6. Whom having not seen, you love; into whom though not seeing Him at present, yet believing, you exult with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,<\/li>\n
    7. Receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls.<\/li>\n<\/ol>B. The Spirit’s Application \nThrough the Prophets’ Prophesying \nand the Apostles’ Preaching \n<\/b>\n

      1. Concerning this salvation the prophets, who prophesied concerning the grace that was to come unto you, sought and searched diligently,<\/li>\n
      2. Searching into what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them was making clear, testifying beforehand of the sufferings of Christ and the glories after these.<\/li>\n
      3. To them it was revealed that not to themselves but to you they ministered these things, which have now been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, which things angels long to look into.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>
