Prophesying and speaking in tongues

(9/11) |

Verses:1_Corinthians 14:1 ~ 14:19
Key Verse:18-19. I thank God, I speak in tongues more than all of you, But in the church I would rather speak five words with my mind, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.
Topic:Prophesying and speaking in tongues
Emphasis:After a person has been saved, what God first wants to do on him is transform and renew his mind, also called “the salvation of the soul” (1Pet 1:9). In the meeting, prophesying can instruct people, and make people know “the things which are above” (Colossian 3:1), “letting this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5), and “mind … the things of the Spirit” (Roman 8:5)
Meditate:In this chapter, Paul compares five aspects to show that prophesying excels above speaking in tongues: the audient, the cause, the content, the result and the effect on our mind. Please find the related verses.
Prayer:Lord please enlarge me, and make a person who will not only cares for my own profit, but also cares for the building up of Your church. Pursues love, and desire earnestly spiritual gifts, especially that I may prophesy.
