Handling Finances

(10/7) |

Verses:1_Timothy 6:1 ~ 6:10
Key Verse:10. For the love of money is a root of all evils, because of which some, aspiring after money, have been led away from the faith and pierced themselves through with many pains.
Topic:Handling Finances
Emphasis:To live on the earth we need proper finance. Verse 8 touches a Christian’s attitude toward the finance: “But having food and covering, with these we will be content.” Verse 10 warns us about the consequence of loving money: “… pierced themselves through with many pains.”
Meditate:1 Timothy 4:8 says “but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the present life and of that which is to come”. Verse 5 of Chapter 6 says the same thing from an opposite angle “… supposing godliness to be a means of gain”. Verse 6 concludes: “But godliness with contentment is great gain;” Think about the relationship between these 3 verses.
Prayer:Lord, preserve me that I may not love money or be tempted by money. Grant me a heart of contentment that I may give thanks in all things.
Hymn:Lord, for this day, thankful to You
