Verses:Matthew 11:1 ~ 11:30
Key Verse:29. Come to Me all who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Topic:Encouraging John the Baptist not to be stumbled, because Jesus only did what is well-pleasing in God’s sight.
Emphasis:When God did not do what John expected (releasing him from the prison), he was troubled. Jesus encouraged him by testifying that He will only do what is well-pleasing in God’s sight. Jesus also reminded disciples that the Lord is dear and near.
Meditate:Christians’ journeys are destined by God, which may not match our expectations. Here is a test, testing how much we know God’s heart and His love.
Prayer:Thank You Lord that You are meek and lowly in heart. Thank You for preserving me that I can come to You today to experience You as my rest. When things are not going my way, I would not be stumbled. Rather, I would be kept in You as my faith.
