Verses:2_Peter 1:1 ~ 1:11
Key Verse:3-4. Seeing that His divine power has granted to us all things which relate to life and godliness, through the full knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and virtue, Through which He has granted to us precious and exceedingly great promises that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption which is in the world by lust.
Topic:Bearing fruit of the divine virtue
Emphasis:Peter briefly touched his experience. When he was called by the Lord Jesus, he saw the glory and virtue of Jesus. Hence, his life was for the purpose of partaking of the divine nature and eventually he entering into the eternal kingdom of Christ.
Meditate:We should diligently allow God’s nature to be developed within us – from faith to virtue, knowledge, self-control, godliness, brotherly love and love. We should gradually bear such fruit of God’s nature.
Prayer:Thank You Lord for calling me and granting to me precious and exceedingly great promises. I am willing to let You develop within me on a daily basis.
Hymn:O God of glory
