The parables of the prudent virgins and faithful servants
Verses:Matthew 25:1 ~ 25:46
Key Verse:21. His master said to him, Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful over a few things; I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your master.
Topic:The parables of the prudent virgins and faithful servants
Emphasis:The parable of the virgins shows that our inward being has to be right to keep the oil (God’s Spirit in our spirit) in our vessel (soul). The parable of faithful servants shows that our outward work has to be right as well, that to use the “talents” (gifts) to trade for more talents, that is to use them.
Meditate:Has our time been spent on reading the words of God (purchasing oil) and using our gifts (trading) to serve others?
Prayer:Lord, I really wish that I could be ready when You come again. Let me be the faithful slave, to catch up today and prepare to go forth to meet You.
Hymn:1308 We have oil in our lamps—we are burning
