And we know and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God abides in him.\r\nIn this has love been perfected with us, that we may have boldness in the day of the judgment because even as He is, so also are we in this world.\r\nThere is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear has punishment, and he who fears has not been perfected in love.\r\nTopic\uff1a<\/strong>No fear in love\r\nEmphasis\uff1a<\/strong>\u201cAbide in God\u201d sounds very abstract, so John described this matter from different angles. Firstly he said \u201cabide in the light\u201d (2:10); then he said \u201ceven as the anointing has taught you, abide in Him\u201d (2:27). This passage, in a very practical sense, tells us to \u201cabide in love\u201d (4:16).\r\nMeditate\uff1a<\/strong>Many believers are concerned about the judgment at the second coming of Lord Jesus, because they fear God\u2019s punishment.
