GALATIANS 3
C. The Spirit by Faith in Christ
versus the Flesh by Works of Law
1. The Spirit Being the Blessing
of the Promise by Faith in Christ
  1. O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly portrayed crucified?
  2. This only I wish to learn from you, Did you receive the Spirit out of the works of law or out of the hearing of faith?
  3. Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?
  4. Have you suffered so many things in vain, if indeed it was in vain?
  5. He therefore who bountifully supplies to you the Spirit and does works of power among you, does He do it out of the works of law or out of the hearing of faith?
  6. Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
  7. Know then that they who are of faith, these are sons of Abraham.
  8. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles out of faith, announced the gospel beforehand to Abraham: In you shall all the nations be blessed.
  9. So then they who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
  10. For as many as are of the works of law are under a curse; for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things written in the book of the law to do them.
  11. And that by law no one is justified before God is evident because, The righteous one shall have life and live by faith;
  12. But the law is not of faith, yet, He who does them shall live because of them.
  13. Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse on our behalf; because it is written, Cursed is every one hanging on a tree;
  14. In order that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
