Being Betrayed and judged
Verses:Mark 14:43 ~ 14:72
Key Verse:61-63. But He was silent and did not answer anything. Again the high priest questioned Him and said to Him, Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am. And you shall see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven. And the high priest, tearing his garments, said, What further need do we have of witnesses?
Topic:Being Betrayed and judged
Emphasis:Jesus was brought as a lamb to the slaughter (Isaiah 53:7). He was silent and did not answer anything. But when the high priest questioned Him about His person, then He bravely answered that He was the Christ, the Son of the Blessed, although He knew His answer would lead to His being crucified on the cross. “He humbled Himself, becoming obedient even unto death, and that the death of a cross.”(Philippians 2:8)
Meditate:Hebrew 5:8: “Even though He was the Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.” Therefore, the death of Jesus is that He obeyed the will of God, to finish God’s redemptive work for His people.
Prayer:Thank You, Lord. According to the willing of God, You tasted the suffering of death for my sin.
Hymn:God has called us for His purpose
