The Testimony of Apostle Paul

(9/3) |

Verses:1_Corinthians 9:1 ~ 9:27
Key Verse:25-27. And everyone who contends exercises self-control in all things; they then, that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we, an incorruptible. I therefore run in this way, not as though without a clear aim; I box in this way, not as though beating the air; But I buffet my body and make it my slave, lest perhaps having preached to others, I myself may become disapproved.
Topic:The Testimony of Apostle Paul
Emphasis:The previous chapters cover the matter of marriage and the matter of eating and drinking. Here Paul displayed his own testimony. He told us that our Christian journey is a race. Therefore we should “exercise self-control in all things” (verse 25).
Meditate:How do we keep a balance between two opposing concepts – rights/freedom vs. aim/self-control?
Prayer:Thank You, Lord, for the testimony of Brother Paul. Grant me such a will that I may receive an incorruptible crown.
Hymn:1206 There’s a race for us to run—Hallelujah
