Aiming to please the Lord

(9/22) |

Verses:2_Corinthians 5:1 ~ 5:21
Key Verse:9-10. Therefore also we are determined, whether at home or abroad, to gain the honor of being well pleasing to Him. For we must all be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done through the body according to what he has practiced, whether good or bad.
Topic:Aiming to please the Lord
Emphasis:When we are facing life or death, we have all kinds of considerations. Here in this passage the apostle Paul told us that his aim is to be “well pleasing to the Lord”. Therefore, he exercised himself to no longer live to himself but to Him who died for him and has been raised. (verse 15)
Meditate:We often say “living for the Lord”, but verse 15 says, “living to the Lord”. Consider the difference. (See footnote 2)
Prayer:Thank God for the vicarious death of Jesus Christ that I may be reconciled to God. Lord, I don’t have to live to myself today, but live to You and please You.
Hymn:513 Once it was the blessing
